Protection features — turn each one on or off

Your child's PC has three protections you can switch on or off any time: App Blocking, Web Blocking and Schedule Lock. There's no slider switch — you tap the row. Here's exactly how, and what turning each off means.

The gesture

Tap the row to switch it

On the device dashboard, find the Protection features section. Each feature is a row you tap — not a slider. Tapping flips it between On and Off:

Schedule LockOff
Tap anywhere on a row to switch it — there is no slider.
A green ✓ On means the protection is active; a grey ✕ Off means it's paused. It changes instantly — no password and no confirmation pop-up. A brief spinner shows while it applies.
The 3 features

What turning each one Off does

App Blocking

Off → no game or app on your list is blocked any more — including scheduled app blocks.

Web Blocking

Off → no website is blocked at all — your entire web filter is paused.

Schedule Lock

Off → the PC no longer auto-locks or unlocks on your schedule or daily time limit.

Turning a feature Off stops that protection completely until you switch it back on. The app doesn't ask you to confirm — so check the row before you tap. Your settings are kept; the feature just pauses, and resumes the moment you turn it back On.

Q & A

Frequently asked

How do I turn a protection on or off?+

Tap anywhere on its row in the Protection features section. Green ✓ On = protecting; grey ✕ Off = paused. There's no switch to slide.

Does turning Web Blocking off delete my block list?+

No. Your filter settings are kept — blocking just pauses. Turn it back On and everything resumes exactly as before.

I tapped it but nothing changed?+

Make sure the PC is online and the KidSafe agent is up to date, then try again. The row shows a spinner while it applies.
